The Barre Chord Bangers are a Denver-based cover band focused on pop and punk songs spanning several decades. Songs range from the early days of punk (Ramones, Misfits) to pop-punk powerhouses (Green Day, Blink 182, Goldfinger) to reimagining pop songs in a punk format (Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Adele).
The BCBs are forged from a collection of Denver bands from the early 2000's. Bryan sang like an angel as the frontman of DORK, earning a spot on the Vans Warped Tour for three years in a row. Eric has banged more wood than a porn star, filling in for Extreme Turbo Smash, Ghost Ranger, Before Rome, Birds of Ares, Riding Shotgun, Royal Dead, Blink 90210, The Commodes, Last Years Losers, and honestly, we can't remember them all. Rich hails from the other Aurora of Wayne's World and has stormed into the scene as Denver's most prominent and goofiest guitarist. Nick has played bass for too many Denver area bands over the past 25 years, such as Three Grams, Sunset Silhouette, and Lights in the Sky, and some say, he holds the title for best bass tone in Denver, but we’ll let you be the judge of that. We saved the best for last. Amanda Hawkins is one of Denver's most talented female vocalists. And while any band would say that about their singer, she's got the chops to back it up. Having placed in the Top 50 of American Idol (season 7), her voice adds an elite layer to the rest of the guys chicanery.
While the BCBs play familiar songs, every show is unique. They've played tribute shows to Blink 182, Green Day, and the soundtrack to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Sets have ranged from 1 to 3 hours. Their wall of guitar sound, gang vocals, and onstage energy has led Pete Travers from Rolling Stones to say:
"Seriously, I've never heard of this band. How did you get this number?" - Unknown
